Per Scholas New York offers free hands-on technology training to students at locations in all five boroughs. Their locations are accessible by local MTA subway and bus lines. Their free IT training program in New York is open to anyone who meets the income requirements, wants to develop their skills and knowledge in the field of information technology, and is a resident of the New York metro area (more on eligibility requirements here). NYPL TechConnect Classes
The New York Public Library’s TechConnect program helps adults develop confidence in their computer skills and grow more comfortable in today’s digital world. TechConnect offers more than 100 technology classes, both online and in-person, at libraries throughout the Bronx, Manhattan, and Staten Island—all absolutely free! From learning the basics of how to use a computer to coding to digital media production, there is a class for everyone. Topics range from beginner to advanced level, including series-based programs for those who want more in-depth knowledge. Classes are offered in multiple languages.
Data Analyst Training Accelerator (DATA) at Fullstack Academy
The Data Analyst Training Accelerator (DATA) is a full-time, no cost, 19-week, remote data analysis training program. Offered in partnership with Fullstack Academy, this program is designed to create an accessible pathway for New Yorkers interested in launching careers in marketing and data analytics with target salaries of $55,000 or more. The industry-informed training program includes a project-based curriculum that will provide participants with in-demand skills in advanced Excel, SQL, Python, AWS, and digital marketing-related analytics, as well as career advancement and interview skills.
Tuition-FREE technology training at NPower
NPower New York provides tuition-FREE technology training and certifications to young adult job seekers, offering an alternative fast-track to tech jobs with employers committed to hiring diverse IT talent. To qualify for our programs, you must be a young adult, 18–26 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent and legally authorized to work in the US and must be located in New York City OR be a military veteran or military spouse. Their programs are 100% no cost to all selected participants through the kind generosity of private donors, foundations, corporations, and government funding. Once you find employment, you are not expected to make any financial contributions or payments to NPower and will graduate from the program with no debt.
